Stop… review time!

If you’re reading this, I appreciate the fact that you’re actually reading my blog as I haven’t updated it in a loooong time. Unfortunately, with my new work schedule at my new job and keeping up with school I just don’t have the time I used to.

Also, in my free time I’ve been writing hardware reviews over at my friend’s site, Tech Gear. Go ahead and check out my Antec notebook coolers review and my new Antec A/V Cooler review. I’ll continue to write reviews regularly over there, so if you miss me enough, you can hop over to Tech Gear and see what I’m up to until I post here again, which may or may not happen in the near future.

In other news, I finally got a MacBook and have been enjoying playing around with it. You’ll probably see many more Mac OS X tips and tricks on here than before. Don’t get me wrong, I’ll still be doing Windows articles, just not as many. I’ll try my best to balance out all the Windows, OS X, and Linux articles I write.

And sorry to those of you who have been getting errors on my site. I completely forgot to re-activate all my plugins after updating WordPress.

Google today launched Google Presentation, a rival to Microsoft’s PowerPoint. If you’re a fan of the other Google Docs web apps, you’ll feel right at home with Presentation. Collaboration, online presentation sharing, and 15 built-in themes are just a few of the many features available in Presentation.
Mozilla is showing off a mockup of the new Places feature for Firefox 3.0. As you can see, the mockup has quite the Vista look going on.
Photoshop Express, a web-based version of Photoshop, is in development. John Nack of Adobe was kind enough to post a screenshot of the app in action. Unfortunately, Photoshop Express will have nowhere near the amount of functionality in the full version of Photoshop.

As you may have noticed, I have finally finished the new Grupenet site design. There’s a few more little tweaks I need to make to it but it’s pretty much completely finished. Anyway, I hope you like the new look and definitely leave your comments concerning the new design. I love hearing from you guys.

Now I will get back to cranking out some more great posts now that I’m all done with the site design. Look forward to some new Mac OS X and Linux content as requested by a some readers.

I’ve noticed that I have been focusing a bit too much on topics involving only Windows lately and I’d like to ask you, the reader, what you’re most interested in, whether it be web apps, software reviews or anything else you see a category for in the sidebar. I will be getting a Macbook soon (whenever Leopard is released), so I will definitely be writing quite a few more more posts involving Mac OS X.

Go ahead and post a comment on either a topic you want me to write about more often or a specific post you’d like me to do.

Windows Update is to blame for this massive Skype outage. Many users rebooted PCs after installing Windows patches which caused a flood of login requests, prompting a chain reaction that had a critical impact.
Handbrake 0.9.0 is out. This is a major release and includes many changes such as new Mac and Windows interfaces as well as improved picture quality and speed.
A great comparison of WordPress 2.2 and MovableType 4 was done by Mashable. Not surprisingly, WordPress is still rated better than MovableType.

Does it bug you that you can only zoom text in Firefox? ArsTechnica is reporting that Firefox version 3.0 will have full-page zooming like that of Internet Explorer 7 and Opera.
Today uTorrent was re-branded as the official Bittorrent client. Version 6.0 and on of Bittorrent will be based off the ever-popular uTorrent client.
BBCs new iPlayer has finally arrived and many users are not happy that the player will only run on computer running Windows XP. Yes, you read right. The iPlayer won’t work on your shiny, new Vista machine. If you’re running XP and would like to try the beta, you can download and test it.

So I’ll start off by saying that I’ve finally decided what I’d like to do with this site. I’ll basically be posting my personal experiences in the world of technology and give some tips to others who may be interested in the same. It won’t be too personal that it’s as if I’m telling you my life story though (isn’t that what Twitter is for?). I’d also like to post lots of tutorials, how-to’s, and possibly some DIY projects of mine.
