  1. Google today launched Google Presentation, a rival to Microsoft’s PowerPoint. If you’re a fan of the other Google Docs web apps, you’ll feel right at home with Presentation. Collaboration, online presentation sharing, and 15 built-in themes are just a few of the many features available in Presentation.
  2. Mozilla is showing off a mockup of the new Places feature for Firefox 3.0. As you can see, the mockup has quite the Vista look going on.
  3. Photoshop Express, a web-based version of Photoshop, is in development. John Nack of Adobe was kind enough to post a screenshot of the app in action. Unfortunately, Photoshop Express will have nowhere near the amount of functionality in the full version of Photoshop.

  1. Windows Update is to blame for this massive Skype outage. Many users rebooted PCs after installing Windows patches which caused a flood of login requests, prompting a chain reaction that had a critical impact.
  2. Handbrake 0.9.0 is out. This is a major release and includes many changes such as new Mac and Windows interfaces as well as improved picture quality and speed.
  3. A great comparison of WordPress 2.2 and MovableType 4 was done by Mashable. Not surprisingly, WordPress is still rated better than MovableType.

  1. Does it bug you that you can only zoom text in Firefox? ArsTechnica is reporting that Firefox version 3.0 will have full-page zooming like that of Internet Explorer 7 and Opera.
  2. Today uTorrent was re-branded as the official Bittorrent client. Version 6.0 and on of Bittorrent will be based off the ever-popular uTorrent client.
  3. BBCs new iPlayer has finally arrived and many users are not happy that the player will only run on computer running Windows XP. Yes, you read right. The iPlayer won’t work on your shiny, new Vista machine. If you’re running XP and would like to try the beta, you can download and test it.
